If you mean "bud burst" aka "green tip" your cherries can take much more than a light frost.  10% bud kill occurs at 25F, and 90% bud kill occurs at 14F.

My sweet cherries look like they are close to budding out.  Days have been warm (60s), but we had frost last night. Is it likely a frost will kill the buds?
