I think that is a good plan. Female kiwi do need
proper pruning for good fruit production, but that should not matter for males.
Another benefit is the shade from the trees, which will reduce the heat stress
in summer. My argutas are out in full sun, and really suffer in the heat in late
summer. In a tree, the vine can find its comfort zone. The shading and mass of
the trees can also help delay bud break in spring, reducing frost problems.
In the wild, Actinidia do grow in trees, but usually in thick forest humus and
not a grass covered lawn. As long as you maintain plenty of mulch around the
root zone, I think this will work well.
