I just got back from a Florida vacation, and I have to report on the Fruit and Spice Park, near Miami. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, it's worth a trip. You can wander around eating fallen fruit, and they also have a table of samples. Besides ordinary things like mangos and carambolas, they also had oodles of things I've never heard of like canistel and black sapote. It was lots of fun. It's a good thing I don't live in zone 10, or I'd need much more land to grow all these fun things. I think every state needs a park like this, though.

Thank you Melissa.

I've been to the Fruit & Spice Park several times, but not recently. It is a wonderful arboretum of fruit and spice trees and bushes, not a social park with swings, slides, etc., as one would associate with the term "Park." It is a must see if any of you fruit lovers are near the area.  Maybe NAFEX should hold an annual meeting there.

Do Google them.

PS. They did have two nice specimens of Diospyros dignya in front and a few more within the grounds.
