I have absolutely no idea whether I am posting in html or not. I am doing
whatever the mail program automatially does. For those of you that are
having problems with some emails how do people know or find out what they are
posting in?

You seem to be posting in text. No problems, anyway.

But the specifics depend on which email package you are using. I use Thunderbird, Mozilla's open-source email software. In the Address Book, if I select the properties under the "NAFEX" listing, there's a little box that says "Prefers to receive messages formatted as..." text, HTML, or unknown. Set that to text.

But Thunderbird defaults to "unknown," so unless an address is deliberately set to HTML, the software will ask me how to format an email every time I send one.

Other email software will be different, but probably similar. Check the address book. If that doesn't work, check "Options" or "Preferences" in one of the drop-down menus at the top of the screen.
