I live in the middle of a pine forest where the soil is alkaline, pH 7.3. Wild blueberries abound here. So, if you have alkaline soil and you don't mind picking smaller berries, plant wild blueberries. Wild types are far more likely to be able to tolerate a wider range of soils and pH.
