I don't use the digest form either. I like the current format.
If I read something I want to keep I save it in a folder on my hard drive.
If I don't need something I can just delete it. If I really need to see it
later I can go back to the archive.

I actually quite like the current format, as I archive all the messages,
and have them in a searchable format. Whereas a number of other
"newsgroups" I subscribe to only download the headers and messages are
"cleaned up" (deleted) on a regular basis. Likewise, I do not like the
blog format.

have a better suggestion: It is looong past time for this list to abandon
this clunky program, which is itself the principal generator of
bandwidth-gobbling redundancy, and adopt one of the simple, streamlined
message systems used by every other chat group I'm aware of. Hank Burchard
