i have queen cox too, but i missed the first fruit as i was out of town last august - my volunteers got them instead, so i can't tell you about quality.

i thin to one fruitlet per cluster, but i don't thin to one fruit every 4-6 inches as the commercial folks do.  this way i get better size, leave a few for june drop, and get lots of fruit in fall.

Our five year old Queen Cox has set fruit for the first time this spring.  I am wondering if anyone has Queen Cox?  How do the apples taste?  Any suggestions on getting quality fruit?  I plan to try bagging at least some of the fruit.

Also about when do you thin your fruit?  I would hate to thin and then lose more fruit to "June drop".
