Thanks, Ed, for the information.  Evidently, like some other University of Minnesota cultivars, Frostbite does not do well in areas with a much warmer growing season.  It will be interesting to see just how far south it can be grown without losing its characteristic flavor. -- Sam

     As info, MN 447 as grown in S. Indiana tastes like a "frostbitten" apple or it could not tolerate the heat at all and any flavor was not detectable.
