This is also work on bleeding injuries.  When as kids we were playing soccer or other games barefoot and someone got injury with some piece of glass or anything similar, this used to be the first cure.  It worked in most cases and parents did not know at all about the injury.

Dear Friends,
I just saw this discussion whilst I was rearranging my mails!

I was reminded of a very painful, but hilarious incident at the time we were kids; My brothers (elder) and myself had gone to the seaside, and clambered onto the "Oil-wharf" for the advantage of the relative depth of the water under it.

The season was "Blue-bottle" time! and we unsuspecting kids threw in our lines with gay abandon as usual!

I was the one who pulled in the line to re-load the bait!

Suddenly, I saw traces of "Blue" on the line, but it was too late!

I immediately felt the sting of the venom on my arm, where the string must have brushed against!

Now, what first aid could one have had resort to?

But I was lucky that day! an old timer advised me to directly urinate onto my arm!

I guess I was really in pain, that I was primed to try anything to just get the pain reduced at any cost, so I complied with the advice in good faith!

It worked! now I will not go into the theoretical aspect of the presence of active available Ammonia in Human urine, because that is what I call THEORY, which I cannot aspire to doubt; but the bottom line is; IT WORKED! really!

So this is sent in, to reasssure, that despite the question of adequate availability of  free Ammonia, The Ages old "Cure" really works!

Cheers!

Gunther
