The video I got with my Doyle bush indicated that I should "tip" the ends of the canes when they get to about 10 feet. This apparently forces the cane to branch at many locations and these are where the berry clusters appear. I had good luck following this proceedure. This video also indicated that I should prune out last year's canes (the ones that produced berrys this year) and focus on this year's canes for next year's berrys.

Our Doyle BB's are growing fast.
They are also surviving the winters in NW,IL. Z4
The two plants we started with 3 years ago are now
a solid wall on the trellis yet few berry clusters.
We have mulched but not fertilized.
We asked the company about pruning but they
did not think it was necessary. Has anyone had
experience with pruning ? How much and what
time of year is best ?
Thanks Anthony, Nth. West Illinois Z 4
