Our pomegranates are months early, as well, and bearing well.

I had had squirrel problems with the pomegranates the past couple years. I
bought an organic squirrel repellent spray and was going to report back. It
seems to be working fantastically well - not one pomegranate eaten, and I
haven't even taken the repellent out of the box it was shipped in....

I think between my cats being on squirrel patrol, and the nearby pine
bearing at the same time as the pomegranate, the squirrels weren't
interested.

Donna,
It is happening here in Minnesota too: Wild berries that normally ripen

in Mid-August ripened in July. Autumn mushrooms are fruiting in August.

******Comment from Donna: though we have been unable to find any info on
how the bizarre weather pattern in the US this summer is related to
worldwide weather patterns, this article mentions the jet stream being down
in Europe. It's been really high here, bringing heat and drought to the SE,
crossing at an angle to make all our rain to fall on TX.
