mature size) from Kevin Bradley of this listserv. He has a list of what heI got my antique apple varieties, all on Bud 9 rootstock (8 ft. and under

I can't get that link to work.
The Ashmead's Kernel I got from Kevin produced four apples the second yearin the ground. This year (third season), the tree is loaded. Also have
fruit on the Honey Crisp I got from him. Sops of Wine on Bud 9 (first year
in the ground, planted last summer) has one apple.>>
I will certainly look for those if I can get his site to come up.
Another great apple is Pixie Crunch, >>
I've looked at/for that one. It's mentioned often on here. I've given
up getting anything from Gurney's/henry Field's. They don't survive
here or if they do, they don't produce anything. Maybe the bees aren't
here at the right time. I have one pear that blooms and one that
doesn't so no pollinating going on there. I can't help but wonder if
the one that never blooms is even a #1 plant. There was some
discussion on one of my groups last spring about trees that don't
survive/do well in any locale and are shipped anyway. You'd have to
read the whole idea but it makes total sense to me. But I'd really
like to plant a tree that has a couple of different apples on it.
