Since this has come up, perhaps I could ask a similar question that's off-topic? (But I swear not to mention cats!) Since I'm pretty new to all gardening, I'd appreciate suggestions of good-tasting tomato varieties, full-size or cherry tomatoes, for my hot, dry summer climate here in Nebraska.

I'm mostly interested in the best-tasting tomatoes. I've grown Early Girls the last couple of years, and they did OK, but I didn't think they had the best tomato taste. Other varieties I tried have cracked very badly. I've only planted a garden the last couple of years, and I haven't tried any cherry tomatoes yet.

I know this is somewhat off-topic, so you can reply off-list, if you wish. I don't want to cause problems, since I've been learning a lot here, but I figured you would be the people who'd know. (PS. I like the idea of planting unusual vegetables, as well as fruits, so I might give those black tomatoes a try, too.)

Thanks!
