- Subject: [NAFEX] black apricot not self-fertile?
- Date: Sat, 17 Feb 2007 11:39:55 -0500
About seven years ago we planted a couple of Tlor-Tsiran black apricot trees, which are now huge. Each year we get maybe one fruit between them. I'd heard that they were self-fertile, but perhaps I was misinformed? They're in a row with a few other myrobalan plums and a Parfait plumcot, all of which set fruit just fine. Last year we added an apricot tree to the row, so maybe we'll get better results, but I'm wondering if anyone on the list has personal experience with the pollination needs of these trees... Thanks!
