Obviously the article on "Haskap" in POMONA wasn't read widely by people on
this list.
The stuff OGW is selling is Russian material that only does well in a
Siberia-like climate. The Haskap selections being bred by Dr. Maxine Thompson
are much superior, though she wants to go through one more round of selection on
them before releasing varieties.

OSU gave this plant a brief trial a few years ago in Columbus, OH. The
plants grew just fine but they bloomed too early for consistent fruit
production--Blue Velvet and Blue Belle's bloom periods did not always
overlap for good pollination.
They might make a good low shrub for forest gardens where consistent fruit
production is not the highest priority.
