I have an American Harvest dryer, have used it for 8+ years and it's been
great. I bought at WM and it was less than half the price of the expensive
ones. You can use it with liners for fruit leathers, etc.; you can also add
additional shelves as needed.

When I lived in the southwest I rigged up an outdoor dryer, but here in the
Midwest it's too humid for that to work too well. IF you want to dry foods
outdoors, be aware that you should take into account your air quality, i.e.,
you shouldn't do it if you live close to a heavily traveled road.
