The reason I've thought about this is kaki
persimmon keep their leaves long after the American persimmon have fallen. Would
they harden off faster and better if sprayed?
Jerry You want the Kaki to retain their leaves until
frost takes them off to develop sweeter flavor of the fruit, produce a better
crop the next year, and also it is claimed it causes them to be more cold hardy.
Native persimmons lose their leaves in mid
to late summer because of a leaf fungus and Kaki get the same problem. Spraying
kaki just after bloom petal drop and again three weeks later with a fungicide
will clear up that problem
