Rob,

I played around with delaying the emergence of the Blue Orchard bees (BOB)
this
year.

The normal emergence this year was April 19-23.

I put out packets of BOB cocoons approximately weekly until June 30.
Depending on
temperatures, all the bees emerged normally in two to seven days. I had
stored the
cartons of BOBs in a cooler at 1-3°C (34-37°F)

So the potential is there to 'manage' the BOBs for crops other than apple.

: I read somewhere that you can put some in the fridge
: to delay the emergence of the bees so you can have a
: longer pollination period. Does anyone do this? if so
: how long can you keep them in the fridge?
