They're copletely hardy here in zone 6. We have had 9 below zero F. with no damage. The fruits are larger that E. umbellata and are kind of a more juicy version. Slight pucker which disappears on cooking or freezing. Pick when dead ripe. And they're early, ripe now and very beautiful hanging on the bush.

How hardy are the goumis?
Do the fruits taste anything like autumn olive, Eleagnus umbellata?

I would love to hear from gardeners in zones 5 & 6 as to their experiences
with this and other
dual purpose edible/ornamental plants!
