They sound like locals, I would not kill them unless the plant shows signs of damage.  They may be part of your ecosystem, and I never kill anything unless I know for sure what it is and what damage it causes.  They do not sound like pests to me.

Hello Again Friends;
 
Little dark colored worms.
Not earthworms, not red wigglers.............
They are perhaps 1 to 1.5" long, dark brown, not slimy.
They are everywhere in the soil.
They immediately curl into a coil if you handle them.
 
Does anybody know what they are?
Should they be ignored or killed?
They seem to like the root area of my Saskatoon plants.
 
Any ideas?
