I'm not sure about the dwarf peaches, but it says it is not as good of
flavor or size as the full size trees. I'd believe what that says.
I have 2 full size peach trees. One is probably an Elberta, it is cling
free, and is the best tasting peach you could find. I wish I knew what
exact variety and such it is because I would buy another one, the
existing treee is about 15 years + and may not make it too many more
years, this is the average life of peach trees. The other is a Redhaven,
it is semi cling- sometimes free stone, and it is also excelent flavor,
but not as big as the elberta.
This past season we had several jars of canned elberta peaches with
only 4 halves in a quart jar. It was hard to get the halves into the
wide mouth! The total harvest is often 400 lbs. from the one tree. we
can 100+ qts, and eat tons.
One orchard in our area of Idaho says they hate the elberta, because it
is a very picky one to harvest. You have to pick it just one day before
ripe and do 4+ pickings. If you let it ripen on the tree they fall and
are spoiled. So it takes getting used to how to treat it, but when you
do it is good to us. Also it takes 2-3 dormant sprays of tri-copper
sulfate, to control peach leaf curl.

Hello All,
Anyone familiar with these peach varieties;
"Honey Babe"
"Stark Sensation"
The web article states they are "Genetic full-dwarf peaches"
).
Anyone have experience with them or know the hardiness of some dwarf
peaches?
Thanks,
Tom
