that is not prone to invaders------human, dog, etc. try
tayberries.
They are a good fruiting plant ( like a cross between blackberries and
loganberries) that sports THORNS that are really something!! At
least the ones I grew many years ago were.
I believe they grow best in zones from 5-9. Pruning can keep them to
the size you desire.
