Loquat leaves do contain a precursor to cyanide, but in limited quanities
it is not a problem. Actually it can be helpful. Cyanide containing herbs
are useful and ancient remedies for sore throat, one of the uses for which
loquat leaf tea is accredited in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
