Bindweed has tenacious roots, seeds that can sit in the soil for more
than 2 decades and still sprout (never let it go to seed), and if you
run a tiller through it, many of the pieces can regenerate a new
plant (kinda like a starfish). You'll need to till all summer every 10
days or so. Because it is so tenacious you must be too. If you use
weed spray you will have to spray multiple times between winter and
winter for at least two to five years. If you can do the black plastic
thing, you can do that. You might try staking out goats as they will
eat about anything. If you pull up a plant put it in a place where it
cannot contact the soil and start growing again. If they have gone to
seed sometime in the past consider either moving or spending a lot of
time on search and destroy missions in the years to come.

Anyhow here is a website that tells you all you need to know about
this plant.
