Lon you are correct, black currant buds are used in perfumes. Actually the most expensive part of black currant is the seeds. I get a couple inquiries a year for availability od seeds, by the ton !!!!
I also like the aroma of black currant.
I did not mean to be critical of Lee and the quote, it is just that I disagree so much with the quote that I would not use it at all because it detracts from a very fime fruit.
