Does Mozilla actually stop pop ups?
Open preferences in your browser, turn off Java and scripting. No popups.
Some sites won't work right that way; but a lot of them do. It's faster to re-enable Java and scripting when you really need them, and then disable them again when you leave that site, than it is to get rid of all those popups.
