It has an option to do that. At least the Netscape browser which is based off Mozilla does so I would think that Mozilla would. It is not set by default.

I've also heard that MS is supposed to be including an option to block pop-ups in IE when they release service pack 2 for Windows XP.

Does Mozilla actually stop pop ups?

Open preferences in your browser, turn off Java and scripting. No popups.

Some sites won't work right that way; but a lot of them do. It's faster to re-enable Java and scripting when you really need them, and then disable them again when you leave that site, than it is to get rid of all those popups.
