I asked Bill Turechek, a horticulturist from Cornell University whether he
knew of any Pseudomonas-resistant or -immune apricot cultivars. This is his
response. -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, MN (Zone 4b)

Sam, Unfortunately I do not. This does not mean that none exist...just
none that I am familiar with. As you are probably aware, apricot is
considered to be the most susceptible of all the stone fruits to
bacterial canker. One thing that you may not be aware of is that the
degree of susceptibility may be influenced by where it is grown (i.e.,
susceptible in NY, but not in MN). This is at least true for sweet
cherry (of which I am most familiar). Not so much for the varieties that
are considered highly susceptible, but for those intermediately
susceptible varieties. Basically, I am just trying to warn you that
susceptibility ratings in one part of the world may not be applicable in
MN.

-Bill

PS Didn't realize you could grow Apricots in MN!
