Generally figs are a warm-temperate plant, which means they
need some chilling, but the temperatures shouldn't be too low.
I generally keep my figs trees in pots in the garage only
giving them enough water so they are not completely dried
out. Repot them in the spring (even back into the same pot
with root pruning.}
If you were still trying to ripen fruit, I'm not sure what the
affect would be.

<<I tried to bring in
some smaller Chicago Hardy for the winter, but I think I got them inside too
late because they dropped their leaves a few days later. Now I'm not sure
what to do with them since they have no leaves. Do they need a cold
treatment outside or will they flush out now that they are warm?>>
