A friend brought a couple of peaches from her Sibercian C tree to our house
Sunday, and I thought that they were pretty tasty peaches. Pale greenish
white, and a nice size. I planted the pits from the two peaches that she
gave us, along with pits from the Siberian apricots that I had gotten from
Bear Creek 6 or 7 years ago. We had a good crop of apricots from the smaller
of the 2 trees that we have. They were small but tasty.
The friend with the peaches said that she had planted a bunch of the trees, I
don't recall the exact number, and only one or two survived and produced
fruit. The rest didn't make it through the winters. She lives south of
Arkansaw, WIS, about 20 miles as the crow flies from me, cold side of zone 4.

Subject: [NAFEX] Photos of siberian C

Here's a few photos of 3 year old siberian C seedling peaches from
Bear
Creek loaded with fruit. I have to say that for peaches in WI these
are pretty tasty & not mealy as I have heard them described
elsewhere.
My romanian partner saw these & immediately recognized them as a kind
of "wild peach" that are very common in her country. They split
easily
into perfect halves & are freestone.
