I've eaten a little, and my technique was to bite a hole in the tough spiny skin, and suck out the pulp. I thought it was an interesting fruit, but not one I liked very much. Bland, slightly exotic, with a sort of unpleasant texture. But then, I'm not wild about the flavor of banana, either.

Those of you eating them: Do you swallow the skin or spit it out and just
eat the pulp?
Curious because locals here eat pawpaw skin.
