All,

I thought there was a thread somewhere back on NAFEX regarding the type of
mulch that is applied to the garden and its effects on soil pH... Might be
interesting to bring that back out to view

Yes, definitely apply grass clippings directly to the garden. Nothing is
better. I trace the
decline of my garden as having begun in 1983 when I stopped using the grass
catcher to simplify
mowing. Grass clippings are high in nitrogen and completely unlike leaves.
Grass clippings are
great nutrition to plants and a wonderful mulch applied directly after
cutting..
