Thanks everybody for the responses to my question about early-ripening
apples, it helps a lot to hear from people who are actually growing them. If
anybody has more to add, please don't stop now!
Since that worked so well, let me try another question: I'm also looking for
one or two apples that will keep a really long time and grow well here.
There are quite a lot of apples that will keep into January or February, but
what are the best ones you know of that will keep well into March, April, or
even later? A couple of possibilities that I've come up with:
Ashmead's Kernel
Black Oxford
Golden Delicious? (not cold-hardy enough?)
Goldrush
Honeycrisp
Honeygold
Keepsake
Spencer
Can you add any to the list or provide your opinions about these?
Thanks,
Mike
