Sorry Mike, Lucky was right, I was wrong. I was thinking my 70 year old
memory was still good. Philohela minor is a bird, a woodcock to be
exact (unless they have changed it like they did with a lot of things in
my lifetime.) They are the same animal. Like Large Mouth Bass are
called "Trout" in Eastern North Caroline and some call them "Chubs"
I haven't taught biology in twenty years and Lucky is still working in
the field. Always take his word over mine. He is rarely (if ever)
wrong.
