Horses have been put to death because they steeped into one of these holes while being ridden. Can you imagine what that would do to a leg, and maybe also the rider?

Hi,

You have no idea how large a problem groundhogs are for farmers. They
ruin crops, destroy fields, and damage equipment that falls into their
holes/burrows.

Farmers will use any method at hand from gasoline, carbon monoxide, dogs,
guns, and gas bombs to destroy these pests.

I think the most popular way is the gas bomb. Block the burrows emergency
exit, place gas bomb in main burrow hole, and seal the main hole. If you
see gas coming from another hidden hole, plug that too.

It is not like they will accept an invitation to leave, and the rule of
thumb being if there is one, there is a dozen applies to them.

Mind you, most farmers have a pesticide license and they can get these gas
bombs easily. Your mileage may vary.

Later,
Tom
