Hi,
I agree with Del totally. I waited for my grapes to start turning color
before I put up my scare
devices. You do not want the pests acclimated to them.
I try to keep my deterrents cheap, and move their locations daily.
Keep in mind that they are only "deterrents" and nothing works 100%.
I am still getting 1-2 brave birds willing to overlook the mean looking mylar
balloons floating
over the arbor, the spinning windmill with 5' blade spans, a decoy owl, and 2
rubber snakes. But
I will take 1-2 birds over the flock that was just sitting on the arbor
waiting for ripe grapes,
that were there before I put up the deterrents.
Birds... A tough battle.
