- Subject: [NAFEX] Bird Scares - CHEAP
- Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 18:07:46 -0400 (EDT)
Hi All,
Had a brain storm at the Dollar Store to keep birds off my grapes.
I bought two of those yellow, smiley face, mylar balloons and had them
inflated with helium. Got home and with a black marker added a nasty
hooked beak, and scowling eyebrows. Then I tied them to the grape arbor.
They are very active in the breeze, and do very odd movements.
They look mean, and seem to be keeping the birds totally at bay.
Grapes are just getting to the point where the birds will eat them, and I
am not going to let them do it without a fight.
Later,
Tom
PS: Mylar balloons can be re-inflated.
