Del:
As far as 1 inch of water a week...well I simply do not know...mine are in a
total mulch bed with a soaker hose. This year I did not water the Autumn
Bliss, nor the Heritage but I did water the Taylors. I go by feel and my
Taylors are always dryer than the other two due in part to the relative lack
of mulch in that area and the relative thinness of Taylor verses Heritage and
Autumn Bliss (The former is pruned and thinned the later is simply cut to
the ground in the spring and grow thick and dense, hence they self mulch).
Autumn Bliss has been fruiting for 5 weeks now (zone 5a/4b)and Heritage for
about 3 weeks(just a few). This is about 4 weeks later than last year. And
we had one heck of a drought this year.
All I know is Autumn Bliss goes limper and curls a lot faster than either
Heritage of Taylor. Hence I suspect it is more water sensitive.
