Subject: Mid Atlantic Variety Showcase

Approximately  150-200 varieties of peaches, apples and pears will be on
display at the showcase from variety  blocks in New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, and the USDA Fruit Research Station in Kearneysviile.,
West Virginia.  Growers all extension research and extension personnel
are invited to attend and if you have a new or interesting variety,
please brings samples( set up from 1 to 3 p.m.) to discuss and display.

Agenda:
3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Visit Variety Showcase
4:30 p.m.  The Eastwood Approach to Gala Management
  Dr. Nate Reed, Pennsylvania State University Postharvest Physiologist

  Penn State Fruit Research and Extension Center, Biglerville, PA
5:00 p.m. Columnar and Upright Peach Trees - Varieties, Selections, and
Tree Management Studies
  Dr. Ralph Scorza, USDA-ARS,
Appalachian Fruit Research Station, Kearneysville, WV
5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Chicken barbeque dinner – visit fruit variety displays
6:30 p.m. New and Unique Peach Varieties for Old as well as Developing
Niche Markets Discussion
