I'm with Ed, but mostly from laziness. I
have so many little engines, some of which are used only occasionally, that I
gave up draining them. Instead I keep stabil in my gasoline all year
round. The only one that gives me trouble is an old Mantis, which I get
going by taking off the air filter and putting my thumb over the air intake (the
choke is not sufficienct), sometimes pour a little gas directly thru the
intake.
Mark Garrison, RI zone 6 I have several rototillers and mowers that I use a lot. In the fall I fill the tanks with gasolene and stabil, then run them for a while to get the new mix all the wat through the engine. I have been told that this is preferred to draining the tank, because it prevents some seals from drying out. I use the same process on the snow blower in the spring. |
