I haven't grown any of these, but I used to buy earliglow at a farmer's
market in NYC. They were usually the first crop of the season. They
are small, somewhat soft, and have a slightly unusual shape - they point
up at the top, rather than being flat or indented. They do not turn as
deep and bright red as the later berries. They are also the best,
sweetest, most richly flavored strawberries I have ever eaten.

I just planted a bunch of them, despite my difficulties with critters
getting all the berries. I am hopeful I may get a handful before the
chipmunks. If so, it will be worth it.
