FWIW, I have a tree of Liberty, have tried it from several sources, and have
limbs on another tree that have borne only two crops (the limbs, not the
whole tree) and they all were essentially the same in flavor. Based on
that, I'd go along with the earlier idea that you might have the wrong
variety. It not only happens, there are nurseries that will make
substitutions without telling you.
