Mark,

Voles are certainly a possible reaon for yellowing. My friends with blueberry
farms say the meadow mice (voles) like blueberries roots even more than young
apple roots.

If you take the base of the blueberry bush, see if it wiggles when you move
it.
If it wiggles, you probably have something eating the roots.

Other possibilities for the
: scraggly ones: pine voles underneath. Or poor drainage in that spot. Or
: maybe that spot was limed in the past.
