Stainless steel is a misnomer.
There is no iron in what they call stainless steel.
The material that is commonly called stainless steel is a mixture of
chromium and nickel.

This is not true. Stainless steel is steel (made of mostly iron) which has
chromium, nickel, and perhaps other metals alloyed with it to give various
properties to the metal. Some kinds of stainless steel are magnetic, and
many are not. There are many kinds of stainless steel with varying degrees
of workability and corrosion resistance.
I don't want to start a flame war, but just want to correct this before it
goes any farther.
