Ginda,
I'm zone 7/8 in PNW and almost none of my nursery trees have lost their leaves
yet. Exceptions are the very early blooming ones like Dolgo and Siberian
Crab.
According to Father Fiala 'Flowering Crabapples':
M. 'Barbara Ann' named by Wyman in 1953. An open-pollinated seedling of M.
'Dorothea'. One of the progeny of M. x arnoldiana. named for the youngest
daughter of Donald Wyman, former horticulturist at the Arnold Arboretum.
Flowers
double, with 12-15 petals, deep purple-pink, fading to a lighter purple pink
1.8"
across; fruit purple-red, about 0.5" in diameter, not attractive. Should be
discarded - too much scab.
