Chris,
I have whip and tongued peaches and it does work.
I think the reason they recommend summer budding is because the temps are
warmer
during the summer and stone fruits callus better/faster at warmer temps.
I haven't done a lot and I've grafted on to the strongest St Julien A
rootstock I
had and I'm guessing I had two succeed out of three. I do fuss over them a
bit
more i.e. try to keep them in a warmer spot as they callus.
I think the main reason for spring grafting is that the scionwood is
available and
may not be available in the summer ... that's usually my reason!

:
: I've been told that generally peaches are generally budded.
:
: My question: can they be "dormant" grafted (i.e. whip and tongue
: grafted). What kind of rate of success would I expect to see?
:
: Thanks,
