We've got the topo's, all nicely covered. Some of them are pretty outdated,
like 1967-1985. We have a large chunk of our county that is Boise National
Forest, that the map doesn't cover well, and has no forest road numbers on
it. Between NAIS aerials and GIS shape files we can fill the gaps. I
strongly feel that is a resource we need to develop and make more available.
Now that I have buy-in from the Sheriff I think we can make it happen.

We're the poor cousins, our latest fund raising efforts have gone towards
new radio's to accommodate the move to narrowband and towards building and
equipping a trailer. I highly doubt we'll be able to tie into the on-line
resources from the field for a long time. Satellite would be the only
alternative and it's way out of our budget. The northern section of the
county is real mountains, radio coverage is poor and cell coverage almost
non-existent.

I appreciate all the ideas, and will be investigating to see what we can
adapt to our needs.

Thanks,
