managers to obtain up-to-date information about trail conditions,
and for trail maintenance teams to be responsive to rapid changes.

This is a forest blowdown that happened in summer 2007, impacting
1300 acres, a swath of forest 4 miles long and up to 1 mile wide.
The blowdown thoroughly blocked some main trails within the Pecos
Wilderness.
