Punctures due to nails or screws, not glass. Just seems to be way glass
breaks into shards. You can train a horse to respect wire, hot or not.
There are a lot of old fences that have become hedges or in some cases as
heavy as beaucage or however the French spell it. The wire and the hardware

are still there, under the thorn bushes. Fortunately, most of the barb wire
is around known cattle fields but the smooth, high tension stuff cuts like a
cheese cutter. Besides the broom and pan there is a magnet hanging where
the farriers work in the barn to help them clean up loose metal.
