I have tried on a lot of SAR vests at conferences. Most unfortunately
are too long for use riding. Well, you could ride with them on but
not with stuff in the bottom pockets.
Vests designed for field service people work better. Those vests are
short because it is assumed the wearer is also wearing gear on a belt
or equipment harness around the waist. Harness...think...climbing.
Look at vests worn by technical rescue teams. And by telephone and
electical company field engineers.
