Hello! We are a MSAR unit affiliated with the Homeland Defense Program with Williamson County TX Sheriff's Dept. We have about 8 horse/rider teams in our group, and have been working on training for the past several months. We are about to start a recruitment campaign to bring more riders into the program, and want to make sure that we are able to provide top-notch training to the caliber of riders we are hoping to recruit.
Our question is this - can anyone in the central Texas area (and I use that term loosely, we're willing to travel if we need to) provide even a half day, if not a full day of overview training for our group? We'd like to get some training scheduled for 6-12 months out. We will be including CPR, orienteering etc along with the traditional SAR and evidence collection training.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!
